Apple Cinnamon French Toast

  • 4 slices 40 calorie bread
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 medium apple
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup fat free milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

A few quick tips:

-Technically you can use all the different types of fruit that you would ever want! This works well with pears really well too. 

-For topping, you could use a little bit of  cool whip, or try one of our delicious New York Cheesecake Shake and Puddings to layer into this for more protein!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

In a large skillet, saute the apple, brown sugar and cinnamon in 1/2 tablespoon butter until apple is tender or softened. 

Step 2

In a small, shallow bowl, whisk the egg, milk and vanilla. Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture.

Step 3

In a pan, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides until golden brown. Serve with apple glaze and sugar free maple syrup if desired.
